Chinese auto parts in your auto:

How many of your Porsche is Chinese. Why are delivery times still so high? Because the parts from China were delayed for a very long time. It is impossible not to buy Chinese. The steel used in your Porsche could well come from China. Many products contain (parts) parts from China. I understand the sentiment and what happened there cannot be justified. However, the better an economy develops, the more articulate people become. In the end, that’s the only thing that works in my opinion. The people who live there can no longer accept it. That does not happen if no money goes to it or we even turn off the tap (Which is no longer possible, in the case of China, the genie is out of the bottle, they now own perhaps 30% of the globe).

Meanwhile, Volkswagen is investing another billion in China, in addition to the 10 factories that are already there.

Mercedes sold more cars in China than in all of Europe last year. BMW sold 800k cars in China and exports them from production there to the rest of the world. Same with so many other Europe’s car brands. Rather, the question is, which car brand is substantially free of Chinese influence?

I think it is legitimate not to support China in terms of chosen car, but then you have to be consistent and choose a brand that really has almost nothing to do with China. The only brand I can think of is Rivian.

Chinese automotive industry is booming whether you like it or not.

They approach “our Western standard and price level” and if they have not already passed us, they will soon. Possibly by means of import duties, the boat can be held back for a while. Also in the sector in which I worked for 30 years, Chinese products were talked about with disdain 15 years ago, rightly so at first, but the European producers in that sector no longer exist, if at all.

So get used to it and stop with all those bullshit stories about mega losses and slavery and not respecting human rights. Of course that is partly true, but Chinese society is evolving. Just before and even after the 2nd World War, things were not normal here in some ways

A: European brands have been producing and selling cars in China for about 30 years. You boycott those brands too @B?

B: Why should I boycott European brands? Bit of an odd comment…

A: Because they are active in China and have been working with companies there for decades. You think that’s ok?

DESIGN REVIEW LYNK & CO 01: ‘PERFECT EXAMPLE OF CHINESE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT’

NIELS VAN ROIJ SEES FRESH WIND FROM CHINA

When describing Chinese cars, some commenters on AutoWeek.nl use words such as ‘bad junk’ and ‘stolen design’. According to car designer Niels van Roij, it is time to take a fresh look at modern Chinese cars. The Chinese are not coming… They are already here! A design review of the Lynk & Co 01.

You don’t worry too much about that “Chinese” do you? Unfortunately you can’t change it anymore. It’s just the way it is, they come and they keep coming, many more. For me, 100% rather a beautifully finished, nice-driving, comfortable “Chinese” Volvo than one of those American models whose seams and cracks are already visibly and audibly rattling in the brochure … (and now I have to take cover)
This EX30 is going to be a big success!

Germans prefer to drive German. By the way, all German cars have parts that are produced in China, especially a lot of electronics! So yes it is German but also much produced in China. Many people do not know this, also that the German industry has a lot of production in China to keep costs low and to be able to compete.

VW and BMW, Mercedes I don’t know, have factories in China. Is this an ethical problem? That’s a tough question, I think. The Netherlands is also not as sacred as people think! It scores poorly on the environment and is a tax paradise for many multinationals who hardly have to pay taxes. We allow Google with data centers that use all green energy so that we have to generate it ourselves with coal.

As a consumer, I choose a car based on price/quality and I don’t care whether it comes from Germany or China. Please note that most items that people buy, from electronics to clothing, come from……..China!

What does a wrong regimen mean? Are you only concerned with your negative emotions or are you also looking at tangible numbers that are the product of a country with a certain political system. If you look at a country with the same population as China, but with a similar regime to ours, so-called democracy.. whatever that means nowadays, India. So what makes India have a better regime?

In 1980 the economies of India and China were about the same size. Today China’s economy is 5x that of India.

Life expectancy: China 76 years, India 69. Literacy: China 96.8%, India 74.4%. Hospital beds per 1000 population: China 4.2, India 0.7. China has much better infrastructure than India. As a woman you can safely walk the streets at night in China, but not in India.

In the past 40 years, I cannot name any other country that has outperformed China in terms of progress for its own population when it comes to hard numbers. Why wrong?

The director of the European Association of Car Manufacturers (ACEA):

“China’s auto industry has matured and is now as technologically advanced as the European one.” In addition, China’s drive for expansion – which is being boosted by China’s comprehensive industrial policy – has contributed to the fact that the country is now looking at European production locations. The motto, according to De Vries? That it is high time for the EU to also set up a robust industrial strategy – with relatively small steps and well-intentioned intentions, it should be done.

And who are they going to sell ICE to? China, the largest sales market, no longer wants them. USA? Sales of European brands are negligible and declining. Africa/Asia? European, and especially German brands are too expensive and barely sell. So there remains Europe, a rapidly shrinking market where non-European brands are gaining ground year after year…
